Starting
from a regional, bilateral and cross-border analysis, this working
group will review Colombia’s ability to integrate with the
widened Andean region countries (including Brazil and Panama). At
the same time, the group will evaluate these countries’ ability
to integrate with Colombia. The group will focus much of the discussion
on the effects of the Colombian conflict, and how the conflict is
viewed abroad as well as the political, economic and regional security
situation in the region.
Based on said analysis, the group will turn to identifying the
common elements and the most favorable scenarios in which integration
will be adequate and cooperation will flow. In other words, the
purpose is to identify possible scenarios in which relations between
Colombia and its neighboring countries can be positive, cooperative
and integrationist.
